A recent study shows that skipping meals and watching too much television or playing a large amount of video games is harmful for children. Although genetics plays a role in regards to obesity, lifestyle has a huge impact on whether or not children become overweight.
There are many reasons why children may skip or miss meals. One reason is that some families may not have the resources or budget to have three healthy meals per day. Or, a hectic lifestyle could be another reason. For example, some families may miss a meal because of a lack of time. Or, some teenagers may deliberately skip meals as a misguided attempt to lose weight. However, most people do not realize that when a meal is not eaten, they will likely be hungrier later on and as a result, overeat.

Weight Loss Tip: Yoga
At an outsider’s glance, yoga is intimidating. Yogis can do impossible back bends, balance on their heads and heck, even celebrities practice it so it has to be for the privileged and select few, right?
Wrong. The first thing you will learn at your first yoga class is that each person’s flexibility, strengths and training are individual and unique. The beautiful concept of yoga is that we’re practicing the ancient art for our own bodies, minds and souls and that it is in no way, shape or form a contest. |

The Nutritional Facts label is a great healthy food secret tool. Once you learn how to read it, you'll become an intellectual eater! You'll be actively thinking about what you're eating, how much you're eating, and what your caloric goals and limits are.
Most nutritional facts labels are set up in the same format. Let's start from the top of the label:
Look for the "serving size": What is the serving size for this food?
Look for "Servings per container": How many servings does this food contain?
Next look for the text, "Amount Per Serving." Ask yourself, how many calories are in one serving? The label may also list the food's calories from fat.
